We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
Your responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, handling medical records with precision, and providing exceptional administrative support to healthcare providers. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a positive and professional front desk experience
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly, directing calls efficiently to appropriate staff members
- Collect and verify patient information, insurance details, and medical history with accuracy
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMRs), ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with billing procedures, insurance claims, and payment processing as needed
- Support clinical staff by preparing examination rooms,
handling medical supplies, and managing administrative tasks related to patient care
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix is essential
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately document patient interactions and procedures
- Demonstrated experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a healthcare setting
- Office experience involving multi-line phone systems, appointment scheduling, and administrative support
- Familiarity with dental office workflows and medical office procedures is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy setting
