Overview
WorkSafely is the industry-based safety program of the Manitoba Heavy Construction Association (MHCA). We support Manitoba’s heavy construction industry through training, certification, advising, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety culture and workforce development across the province.
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Training Coordinator to support the delivery, administration, and continuous improvement of WorkSafely’s training and education programs.
The Training Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of WorkSafely training programs across Manitoba. This position is responsible for coordinating training logistics, supporting training standards and compliance, administering the LMS, and providing excellent customer service to internal staff, trainers, and external clients.
This role works closely with the Training & Education team, Safety Advisors, contracted trainers, and external partners, and requires strong organizational skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer all WorkSafely training programs across Manitoba, including scheduling, logistics, trainer coordination, registration, classroom setup, and virtual delivery support
- Provide administrative coordination and operational support for WorkSafely training programs, including NCSO™ and NHSA™, ensuring smooth delivery and adherence to program requirements
- Coordinate SAFE Work Endorsed Training (SET) and generalized training standard requirements, including course approvals, documentation submissions, trainer endorsements, renewals, compliance tracking, and reporting.
- Administer the Learning Management System (LMS/SkillPass), maintaining accurate training records, class lists, user access, course content,
reporting, and data integrity
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal staff, contracted trainers, and external clients, responding to inquiries and providing guidance on training options, certifications, and prerequisites
- Support the planning and coordination of WorkSafely events and engagement activities, including COR meetings, webinars, forums, conferences, and MHCA industry events
- Assist with training-related billing, invoicing, record management, and reporting requirements in accordance with WorkSafely and MHCA policies
- Support continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives by maintaining documentation, identifying process improvements, and supporting compliance reviews
Qualifications
- Education in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2–5 years of experience in an administrative or operational role, preferably within a certification, training, or compliance environment
- NHSA designation is considered an asset
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
- Experience with CRM software is highly desirable
- Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive in identifying issues and solutions
- Demonstrated professionalism and a strong understanding of confidentiality requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for periodic travel within Manitoba
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $1.00-$2.00 per year
