We are seeking a dedicated Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join our veterinary practice specializing in the care and treatment of large animals, including equine and livestock patients, and small animals, mainly dogs and cats. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for animal health, and have experience working with both large and small animals in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on animal health while collaborating with a team of experienced professionals.
Large animal on-call duties are a significant part of the job. There is no small animal on call.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a variety of animal health issues, including medical, surgical, and preventive care.
- Drive to and treat animals on-farm
- Treat small animals in our veterinary clinics for routine wellness and disease diagnosis
- Perform routine examinations, vaccinations, and health assessments for livestock and equine patients.
- Treat emergency cases and provide urgent care as needed.
- Conduct laboratory tests and interpret results to inform treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure effective clinic operations.
- Qualifications
- Valid restricted veterinary license to practice in Ontario, passed NAVLE
- Prior experience working with equine and bovine species essential
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform surgical procedures and diagnostic testing.
- Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
