Role Description The Mortgage Broker role at TMG The Mortgage Group is a contract, hybrid position based in Calgary, AB, with flexibility for some work from home. In this role, the Mortgage Broker meets with clients to understand their financial goals, assesses credit and income information, and recommends appropriate mortgage products from a wide panel of lenders.

The Mortgage

Broker gathers and verifies documentation, prepares and submits applications, negotiates terms with lenders, and monitors files through to funding. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining referral relationships, staying current on lending guidelines and market trends, and providing clear, timely communication to clients throughout the mortgage process.



The role also involves using TMG’s proprietary tools and technology to manage leads, track applications, and ensure an effective client ex perience.Qualifications

- Strong client advisory skills, including the ability to assess financial profiles, explain mortgage options clearly, and provide objective guidance throughout the financing process.
- Proficiency in relationship-building and business development, with experience cultivating referral networks (e.g., real estate professionals, financial advisors) and generating new leads.
- Solid analytical and organizational skills, including attention to detail in documentation, ability to interpret lender guidelines and credit reports, and effective pipeline management.
- Comfort with technology and digital tools, including CRM systems, lender portals, and online document management, as well as willingness to learn and use TMG’s proprietary platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong negotiation abilities, and a professional approach to client service and conflict resolution.
- Current or eligible provincial mortgage agent/broker license in Alberta, with a clear understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Previous experience in mortgage brokering, lending, banking, or related financial services is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, manage a flexible schedule, and maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality.
