The NICU Manager provides leadership and oversight for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient and family-centered care. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit. The NICU Manager collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership to promote best practices, optimize patient outcomes, and support the professional development of staff while aligning unit goals with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
Facilitates implementation of corporate projects within the program, i.e., Clinical Pathways, workload measurement systems, information automation in collaboration with project coordinators. Develops unit specific philosophy, goals objectives and standards of patient care in collaboration with the Patient Care Team and ensuring that these are congruent with the hospital mission, vision & values and standards Develops systems to monitor and manage unit operations, progress toward established goals, and patient care outcomes Acts as a resource person to the physicians, and support staff,
in relation to the care of patients and unit operations Implements quality improvement initiatives for the program in order to enhance the quality of patient care Ensures that all staff are informed and in compliance with relevant policies and procedures Develops and manages an operational budget for the program in collaboration with the Program Team and the Director including preparation of yearly capital budget for the program in collaboration with the Program Team and Director of Operations Analyzing management reports, investigating variances, initiating remedial action and evaluating outcomes Contributes as a member of the Program team towards development and implementation of team goals Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff. Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning effectively. Proficiency in healthcare information systems and computer applications relevant to patient care and operational management. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Minimum five (5) years current, relevant clinical experience required.
