Who We Are
Mindful OT Services is a specialized, award-winning paediatric occupational therapy clinic in Newmarket, Ontario. We serve children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing differences, developmental delays, and complex motor needs. Our team of regulated OTs delivers programming across gross motor development, primitive reflex integration, sensory processing, adolescent life skills, HeartMath biofeedback, art therapy, and animal-assisted programming.
We are a small, high-calibre team led by a founder-clinician with deep paediatric expertise. We do not operate as a churn-and-burn clinic. Every person on our team is invested in the work, in the families we serve, and in each other.
The Opportunity
We are hiring a full-time, permanent Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to work alongside our regulated OT team in delivering exceptional paediatric therapy. This is a clinic-based role where you will implement individualized treatment plans, support group programming, and play an active part in the progress of every child on your caseload.
Our clinic operates evenings and weekends — a structure designed to eliminate commute stress, protect time for self-care, and maximize your professional impact by seeing families when they are most available and most likely to attend consistently.
You will work under the supervision of our registered OTs, with full administrative and clinical support provided. Your role here is hands-on, purposeful, and central to what we do.
What You’ll Do
- Implement individualized treatment plans – developed by the supervising OT to support clients’ sensory, motor, social, and daily living skills
- Deliver therapy sessions – in individual and group settings, ensuring all activities align with each client’s goals and Mindful OT’s clinical programs
- Support group programming – including sensory groups, motor programs, adolescent life skills, and specialty services
- Document client progress – accurately and on time — session notes, progress observations, and client responses
- Collaborate with the OT team – to share feedback, adapt programming, and ensure consistency in each client’s care
- Educate and support families – by providing guidance on home strategies and carry-over activities
- Maintain therapy spaces and equipment – ensuring all sensory and motor environments are safe, organized, and ready for each session
- Contribute to team culture – through initiative, collaboration, and a genuine investment in the clinic’s mission
Who You Are
- Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program (OTA or OTA/PTA combined)
- Experience working with children, youth, or adults with ASD, ADHD, or other neurodevelopmental differences is preferred
- Foundational knowledge of sensory processing, motor development, and self-regulation strategies
- A warm, empathetic communicator who can build trust with children and families quickly
- Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with documentation and scheduling
- A self-starter who takes ownership of their work without needing to be managed
- Available for a consistent schedule of evenings and weekends
- Values alignment with Depth, Leadership, Loyalty, and Stability
