About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to lead their FMCG distribution centre in East London . This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and dispatch, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety. You will be responsible for managing a large team, optimizing warehouse processes, and implementing best practices to meet operational targets and customer demands. This is a key leadership position offering the opportunity to drive excellence in logistics for a major FMCG player.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day operations of the FMCG distribution centre , including receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and dispatch.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and accountability.
- Implement and enforce health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Optimize warehouse layout, workflows, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize operational costs.
- Manage inventory accuracy and implement effective stock control measures to reduce losses and discrepancies.




- Collaborate with supply chain planning and transport teams to ensure seamless integration and timely delivery of goods.

Requirements

- Proven experience in managing operations within a large-scale warehouse or distribution centre environment, preferably in FMCG.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control best practices.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations within a logistics environment.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize operational processes and drive efficiency improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
