Role: Operations Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Operations
- Plan and coordinate daily warehouse and operational activities.
- Set priorities for picking, packing, production and other operational work.
- Assign work and make sure the team has what it needs to complete the day’s priorities.
- Identify delays, bottlenecks or resource issues early and take action to keep work moving.
Logistics:
- Obtain freight quotes for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Prepare orders for shipment & book carriers
- Ensure we stay competitive with freight rates
Inventory & Quality
- Maintain accurate inventory and oversee cycle counts, stock checks, and investigation of discrepancies.
- Ensure products are properly handled, stored, packaged, and shipped according to Discoverer quality standards.
- Identify inventory shortages, damaged goods, operational errors, and areas requiring corrective action.
Team Supervision
- Provide daily direction and support to warehouse and operations employees.
- Train and onboard new team members on operational procedures, equipment, products, and safety requirements.
- Monitor productivity, performance, attendance, and adherence to company procedures.
KPIs, SOPs & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and report on key operational KPIs, including order accuracy, inventory accuracy, shipping performance, productivity, and operational errors.
- Ensure established SOPs are consistently followed across warehouse and operational activities.
- Assist with the development, documentation, implementation, and ongoing improvement of operational SOPs.
- Identify recurring issues, inefficiencies, and performance gaps and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, accountability, and overall operational performance.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure employees follow established health and safety procedures, including requirements for forklifts, mobile equipment, material handling, and PPE.
- Conduct routine workplace inspections and address hazards, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in operations, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing,
or a related environment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing day-to-day warehouse operations, inventory, shipping/receiving, and workflow priorities.
- Experience implementing and maintaining SOPs, operational processes, and KPIs.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse organization.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to set expectations, delegate work, coach employees, and hold team members accountable.
- Solid organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on operational environment and shifting priorities when business needs change.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments.
- Comfortable using inventory/ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and other business software.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and safe warehouse practices.
- Forklift experience/certification needed
