Employment Conditions: In office/shop, Monday to Friday (Days)

Regular Work Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Anticipated Start Date: Oct 2026

Salary: $36.00 to $45.00 per hour The Opportunity:

BCS Automation is seeking an experienced electrical industrial automation professional to join our team as a Panel Builder - Senior. This is an opportunity to bring your electrical experience into a clean, organized, and professional workshop while continuing to perform challenging, hands-on technical work.

Working primarily indoors at our Belleville facility, you will benefit from consistent Monday-to-Friday daytime hours, providing greater day-to-day consistency than many field-based electrical roles. You will lead complex custom panel, switchboard, motor control center, and control-system builds from drawings through to testing, while solving technical and production challenges and helping projects move forward safely, accurately, and on schedule.

This role is well suited to an experienced electrician or panel builder who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys practical problem-solving, and values both stability and technical variety. You will also provide guidance to other Panel Builders and collaborate with our electrical design team to deliver specialized systems for Canadian marine and industrial applications.

Why join BCS:

At BCS, you’ll support projects that have real-world impact, from marine automation work tied to Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy and Arctic sovereignty efforts to custom industrial solutions for customers in the cement and manufacturing sectors. The work is diverse, technically interesting, and offers exposure to complex projects across multiple industries.

As Canada continues to invest in shipbuilding, industrial modernization, and critical infrastructure, the marine and industrial automation sectors are positioned for solid growth.

This role offers the opportunity to build valuable experience in an industry with expanding demand and long-term career potential.

Your Role:

- Lead assigned panel, switchboard, motor control center, and control-system builds from released drawings through inspection, testing, and readiness for shipment
- Review electrical schematics, layouts, bills of materials, work instructions, and project specifications; plan and sequence the work required to complete each build
- Lay out, fit, cut, drill, tap, mount, wire, terminate, and label electrical components and assemblies
- Monitor build progress and coordinate with internal departments to resolve missing information, design conflicts, material shortages, and other production constraints
- Complete work safely and in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, applicable industrial or marine requirements, released drawings, and BCS quality standards
- Inspect and test completed work, diagnose electrical and control-system issues, determine root causes, and complete or coordinate corrective action
- Maintain accurate drawing markups and complete required manufacturing, inspection, testing, deficiency, and non-conformance records
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other Panel Builders and recommend improvements to build methods, tooling, quality, shop organization, and production capacity
- Support installation, commissioning, start-up, and service activities in the shop or at customer sites when required

Qualifications and Experience:

- Electrician background demonstrated through an Ontario 309A or 442A Certificate of Qualification preferred, diploma or degree from Electrical,

Electro-Mechanical engineer/technician/technologist or a registered electrical apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of recognized electrical trade training and directly related industrial controls experience
- Minimum eight years of hands-on electrical experience, industrial electrical work, control-panel fabrication, switchgear, motor control centres, machine wiring, or comparable electrical assembly work
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex builds, establish priorities, coordinate next steps, and move work forward with limited supervision
- Advanced ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of materials, and technical specifications
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and accepted industrial electrical construction practices
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and testing skills, including safe use of multimeters and other applicable test equipment
- Proficient use of panel-shop hand tools, power tools, crimping tools, torque tools, and fabrication equipment
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to guide and support less-experienced Panel Builders while maintaining a respectful and cooperative work environment
