POSITION OVERVIEW The Partnership Manager is a full-time role responsible for the day-to-day management, development, and activation of Squash Canada's corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and fundraising relationships. The position works closely with internal teams, event organizers, committees, and external partners to deliver partnership commitments, create meaningful activation opportunities, and strengthen partner relationships.
The Partnership Manager will play a key role in maximizing the value of existing partnerships while supporting the identification and development of current partnership opportunities. This position will oversee partnership fulfillment across national events, programs, digital platforms, and other Squash Canada properties ensuring that contractual obligations and partner expectations are consistently met.
The successful candidate will be highly organized relationship manager with strong communication, project management, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple partners, activations, events, and deadlines simultaneously.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Partnership Management & Account Servicing
- Manage a portfolio of corporate partners, sponsors, and other external stakeholders, serving as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with partners to support engagement, retention, renewals, and long-term partnership growth.
- Oversee the fulfillment of partnership agreements, ensuring all contractual obligations, benefits, and deliverables are completed accurately and within established timelines.
- Coordinate partner communications, including agreement deliverables, brand approvals, event invitations, logo and asset collection, and activation requirements.
- Lead partner onboarding and servicing processes, including the coordination of contracts, fulfillment schedules, and relevant internal resources.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing partnerships through additional activations, customized initiatives, and expanded engagement opportunities.
- Monitor partner satisfaction, identify potential issues, and proactively develop solutions to maintain positive relationships.
- Support the Partnership Director in the development, negotiation, renewal, and execution of major partnership agreements.
Partnership Development & Revenue Generation
- Identify, research, and cultivate prospective corporate partners, sponsors, donors, and other revenue-generating relationships aligned with Squash Canada’s strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement partnership outreach strategies to support the acquisition of new partners and the growth of existing accounts.
- Prepare partnership proposals, sponsorship packages, presentations, and customized opportunities that demonstrate the value of partnering with Squash Canada
- Lead prospect cultivation and relationship development activities, including outreach, meetings, presentations, and follow-up.
- Support partnership negotiations and the development of agreements,
in collaboration with the Partnership Director and other relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and achievement of annual partnership revenue targets.
- Identify opportunities to generate revenue through national events, corporate initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and other Squash Canada properties.
- Monitor partnership pipelines, renewal opportunities, and revenue projections, providing regular updates to the Partnership Director.
Fundraising & Donor Development
- Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to advance Squash Canada’s organizational priorities and programs.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective and existing donors, sponsors, and philanthropic partners.
- Coordinate fundraising campaigns, donor engagement initiatives, and stewardship activities to support revenue generation and long-term donor relationships.
- Research and identify grant opportunities and contribute to the preparation and submission of funding applications
- Support fundraising initiatives associated with national championships, special events, auctions, raffles, Corporate Challenge, Racquets Up, and other organizational programs as applicable.
- Coordinate donor communications, recognitions, and engagement activities to support positive donor experiences and ongoing contributions.
- Manage donor-related documentation, including prospect records, pledges, invoicing, payment tracking, and stewardship activities, in collaboration with Finance and relevant staff.
- Track fundraising progress against established targets and contribute to revenue reporting and forecasting.
Partnership Activation & National Event Delivery
- Develop, coordinate, and execute partner activation plans across Squash Canada’s national events, programs, and digital platforms.
- Lead the delivery of on-site and on-court activations, ensuring partner branding, visibility, and engagement opportunities are implemented in accordance with partnership agreements.
- Coordinate partnership requirements for national events, including the Canadian Women’s Open, National Championships, Masters events, and other designated competitions.
- Support partnership-related planning and execution for Squash Canada Connect, Racquets Up, Corporate Challenge, and other organizational programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate bespoke activations and customized partner experiences, including hospitality, food and beverage, signage, merchandise, lanyards, seating, and other contracted advantages
- Oversee parter recognition and engagement activities, including trophy presentations, event invitations, and sponsor acknowledgements
- Collaborate with event organizers, committees, venues, suppliers, and internal teams to integrate partnership deliverables into event plans and operational timelines.
- Coordinate partner merchandise and promotional asset requirements, ensuring contractual commitments are fulfilled.
- Attend and support designated national events and partner activations including occasional events and weekends and travel as required.
Reporting, Financial Tracking & Asset Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date partnership records, including contracts, contract lists, sponsorship inventories, deliverable trackers, budgets, and activation schedules.
- Monitor partnership fulfillment and ensure all contracted benefits are documented, tracked, and completed.
- Prepare partner fulfillment reports, post-activation summaries, year-end reports, and renewal materials demonstrating partnership value and impact.
- Collect and analyze relevant partnership metrics, including activation results, digital engagement, event participation, and other agreed-upon performance indicators.
- Coordinate the collection and management of partner digital assets, creative materials, and branding requirements in collaboration with internal communications and marketing staff.
- Monitor partnership revenue, fundraising results, outstanding payments,
and budget projections in collaboration with Finance
- Support invoicing, payment tracking, revenue reconciliation, and financial reporting related to partnership and fundraising activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve partnership reporting, tracking systems, and internal processes.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Organizational Support
- Work collaboratively with Squash Canada staff, departments, committees, event organizers, and external stakeholders to ensure effective partnership delivery.
- Coordinate internal responsibilities and establish clear timelines for partnership obligations, fundraising activities, and event activations.
- Maintain effective working relationships with provincial and territorial squash associations, sponsors, suppliers, agencies, donors, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of partnership management procedures, templates, and systems that improve organizational efficiency and accountability.
- Provide guidance and coordination to interns, volunteers, and other staff supporting partnership and fundraising activities, as required.
- Undertake other related duties as assigned in support of Squash Canada’s strategic objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Post- secondary degree or diploma in sport management, business, marketing, communications, fundraising, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in partnership management, sponsorship, fundraising, business development, marketing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing external relationships, accounts, projects or revenue-generating initiatives.
- Experience in coordinating partnership agreements, sponsorship deliverables, activations, or fundraising activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop professional proposals, presentations, reports, and partner communications
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deliverables, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain accountability for assigned responsibilities.
- Robust interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience tracking budgets, revenue targets, financial information, or performance metrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel within Canada and work occasional evenings and weekends in support of national events and partnership activations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position will be based out of the national office in Toronto with the possibility of basing out satellite offices in either Vancouver, Calgary or Montreal for the right candidate.
- Full time position (40 hours per week). As a professional position, overtime will not be paid however, time off in lieu of hours worked will be available.
- Some domestic travel is required in this position.
- Occasional weekend and evening work will be required, largely around events and partnership activations.
- Some lifting of boxes, shipments, displays of less than 50 lbs is required.
- Occasional extended hours may be required to support national events and partnership commitments.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Police Record Check and/or vulnerable sector check, safe sport training, and other screening requirements in accordance with Squash Canada’s Screening Policy.
COMPENSATION Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications, within a total compensation range of $60,000-90,000, inclusive of base salary and commission
