The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill a position vacancy in our Peterborough Residence as a:

Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Casual Position

Rate $ 27.60/hr with increase after successful probationary period

Position Summary: We are seeking compassionate, hardworking team players to cover day, night, and evening shifts in our 16-bed care unit in Peterborough. Care is also provided for Retirement-side Sisters. Experience in a geriatric environment, focusing on person-centred care, is preferred. Demonstrated experience with differing forms of dementia is an asset.

The PSW is responsible for providing hands-on, compassionate care to support the physical, emotional, and social needs of our Sisters. You will work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to assist with ADLs and support the Sisters dignity, independence and general wellbeing in alignment with the Sisters values.

This position is for a Casual PSW with availability to work regularly. Available shifts can be days, evenings and nights (each 8 hours); with the opportunity to pick up call in shifts as they become available.





Qualifications / Required Skills

· Currently working as a PSW for at least one year

· Compassionate, resident-focused approach with a commitment to quality care

· A police record check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate

Availability to work weekends is a requirement for this role as well as a willingness to work flexible schedule or shifts as required, based on operational needs.
