We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our patient-focused community pharmacy connected to a busy medical clinic in Lundy’s Lane, Niagara Falls. A friendly, outgoing “people person” who enjoys building strong relationships with patients and providing the personalized service that makes a community pharmacy feel welcoming and keeps patients coming back.
This is an ongoing contract position with no fixed end date, offering regular shifts of 1–3 days per week. The successful candidate will provide safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care and work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Compounding experience is an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, prepare, and dispense prescriptions, including blister packs, accurately and in accordance with regulations and safety standards.
- Provide medication counseling, education, and medication reviews.
- Monitor medication therapy and collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues and optimize patient care.
- Perform medication reconciliation and maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, professional, and safety standards.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and medication supplies.
- Contribute to patient-care initiatives and pharmacy service improvements.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists and in good standing.
- Minimum 1 year of community pharmacy experience required.
- Strong knowledge of acute, chronic, and addiction medication management.
- Excellent communication, counseling, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong teamwork and patient-service skills.
- Proficient with computers and Kroll paperless workflow.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and current pharmacy standards.
The pharmacy also supports frequent after-hours clinics and generally remains open 30–90 minutes beyond regular hours. Operating hours may change based on patient and operational needs and may eventually include extended weekday hours and/or Sundays. Minimum availability of 9 hours/shift is a must.
