Physician Assistant (Part time) – Primary Care Clinic, Guelph, ON

Schedule: 3 days/week, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (lunch 12:00–1:00 PM), 21 hours/week

Pay: $40 – $45/hour, based on experience

About Us

We're a busy, team-based family medicine clinic in Guelph. We're looking for a skilled, caring Physician Assistant to work closely with our physicians, nurses and reception staff to give patients high-quality primary care.

Start all procedures under a direct order or medical directive from a supervising physician

Responsibilities

- Take problem-focused histories and do physical exams and patient screening, and order the right lab and diagnostic tests
- Send referrals to specialists and other services as needed
- Fill out patient forms or help patients with them, such as Return to Work, Functional Abilities, Disability Tax Credit and insurance forms
- After a skills assessment and a satisfactory performance evaluation, perform minor procedures including:
- PAP smear




- Ear syringing and liquid nitrogen
- SC/IM injections and childhood vaccines
- Punch and shave biopsies
- Suture and staple removal, and dressing changes
- Keep accurate clinical notes in the EMR

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Certified by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (CCPA)
- Registered, or eligible to register, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Strong clinical judgment and good communication skills
- Primary care experience is an asset
