AJ Contracting is seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Plumbing Apprentice to join our growing team.

This position is initially part-time, with the potential to develop into regular or full-time employment as our workload and ongoing projects continue to grow.

We are looking for someone who is interested in developing their plumbing skills, gaining practical field experience, and building a long-term career with a growing contracting company.

Position Details

- Position: Plumbing Apprentice
- Employment type: Part-time employee

- Pay: Competitive hourly wage based on experience and apprenticeship level
- Schedule: Variable hours initially, with the potential for increased hours as work volume grows
- Employment relationship: Direct employee of AJ Contracting; this is not a subcontractor position

The work may include a variety of plumbing-related maintenance, service, renovation, and construction activities. The specific work and locations may vary depending on current projects and company requirements.

Responsibilities

Depending on the project, responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with plumbing installation, maintenance, repairs, and service work
- Assisting with troubleshooting and identifying plumbing issues
- Working with plumbing fixtures, piping, drains, and related systems
- Assisting with drain cleaning and maintenance
- Using plumbing tools and equipment safely and appropriately
- Following instructions from supervisors and experienced tradespeople
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Handling materials, tools,



and equipment responsibly
- Following applicable workplace health and safety requirements
- Communicating professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other trades
- Completing assigned tasks efficiently and to a professional standard

Training and hands-on guidance will be provided where appropriate. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and progressively take on more responsibility. Qualifications & Requirements

Required

- Current plumbing apprenticeship or relevant plumbing training/experience
- Basic understanding of plumbing tools, materials, and work practices
- Reliable and punctual
- Robust willingness to learn
- Good work ethic and professional attitude
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures

Assets:
- Previous residential, commercial, or industrial plumbing experience
- Experience with plumbing maintenance or service work
- Valid driver’s licence
- Reliable transportation
- Additional construction or skilled-trade experience
