Project Coordinator | Genesis Metalworks
Brantford, Ontario
Genesis Metalworks is a family-owned and operated metal fabrication and welding company in Brantford, Ontario, with more than 35 years of welding experience. We provide full-service metal fabrication, from cutting and forming through welding, assembly, finishing, quality control, and delivery.
Our customers come to us with a project, drawing, or idea, and we help turn it into a finished product. As Project Coordinator, you'll play an important role in that process, keeping project details organized, ensuring the right information gets to the right people at the right time, and helping keep projects moving from start to finish.
At Genesis, you’ll be joining a team that believes in doing the right thing, getting things done, doing quality work, finding a way forward, and working together. If you're organized, practical, and enjoy being part of a team that takes pride in getting the job done right, we'd like to hear from you.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Project Coordinator to help keep our fabrication projects organized and moving from customer inquiry and quoting through engineering, production, quality, delivery, and closeout. You will:
- Support projects from RFQ and quoting through production, delivery, and closeout, helping keep schedules, priorities, and follow-up items on track.
- Review drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and project information to ensure the team has what it needs to move the work forward.
- Coordinate communication between estimating, engineering, fabrication, welding, finishing, quality, and delivery.
- Communicate project requirements, changes, priorities, and updates clearly to customers and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, revisions, specifications, schedules, and customer communications.
- Assist with tracking project costs, labour, outside services, and other project information, and help identify potential issues or delays before they affect the project.
- Support customer follow-up, delivery coordination, quality processes, and continuous improvement as required.
What You Bring to the Team You are an organized and practical person who enjoys keeping things moving and working with people across different areas of the business. You’re someone who:
- Keeps track of details, deadlines, and follow-up items and makes sure things don’t get missed.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with customers, project teams, and shop personnel.
- Notices when something doesn’t look right, asks questions, and brings issues forward.
- Is comfortable working with drawings, specifications, measurements, and project information, with an interest in learning how they apply to fabrication.
- Collaborates with different people and understands that completing a project requires everyone working together.
- Is proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Experience in project coordination, administration, manufacturing, construction, metal fabrication, welding,
or another industrial environment would be an asset. Experience reading drawings, working with ERP or project management systems, or exposure to CAD, estimating, scheduling, ISO 9001, or CWB requirements would also be considered an asset. Why Genesis?
At Genesis, we build things, and our people are a big part of making that happen. You'll work alongside skilled tradespeople, contribute to real projects, and see the work move from an idea or drawing to a finished product. It's a hands-on environment where people are encouraged to take ownership, solve problems, and find better ways to get the job done. This opportunity includes:
- Competitive compensation of $65,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications;
- Comprehensive benefits plan and RRSP matching program;
- Boot allowance program;
- Company events and activities, including golf tournaments, family days, and team events
