Reporting to the Clinical Manager the Psychologist is responsible for the assessment diagnosis prevention and treatment of behavioural and mental disorders and dysfunctions; and the maintenance and enhancement of physical intellectual emotional social and interpersonal functioning (Psychologist Act 1991). Experience in the provision of brief and moderate term psychological intervention including group and individual psychotherapy and behaviour management techniques with adults with serious mental health and/or addiction issues Experience in a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches with adults is preferred Experience providing supervision to non-registered staff and/or students is preferred Experience working within an interprofessional team setting with the ability to work collaboratively as a team player with excellent relationship building interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Skill/experience in the administration and interpretation of psychometric tests Understanding of relevant legislation (Mental Health Act Health Care Consent Act and PHIPA) Knowledge of the Strategic Priorities of SJCG and Mental Health Outpatient Programs Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of a complete primary series of Health Canada approved mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date. If proof of vaccination or valid medical exemption is not provided, the offer of employment is rescinded.
