The Explorer Academy is seeking an energetic and passionate Public Speaking Coach to join our growing team. In this role, you will empower children aged 7–16 to develop confidence, communication skills, and a lifelong ability to express themselves clearly. You will work with a diverse range of students—helping shy speakers find their voice, guiding enthusiastic presenters to refine their delivery, and preparing children for competitions, school presentations, and leadership opportunities.
Your expertise will nurture not only public speaking skills but also creativity, empathy, and teamwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct fun and engaging group workshops and small-group coaching sessions focused on public speaking techniques for ages 7–16.
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and games to build speaking confidence and communication skills.
- Teach essential public speaking elements including voice projection, articulation, body language, eye contact, and audience connection.
- Incorporate storytelling, drama, and role-play to make learning interactive and enjoyable for children.
- Provide gentle, constructive feedback and celebrate student progress to boost confidence.
- Support children in overcoming performance anxiety and developing a positive self-image as speakers.
- Prepare students for presentations, debates, and academic competitions.
- Collaborate with parents and staff to monitor student progress and adjust coaching strategies as needed.
- Stay current on child-centered teaching strategies and trends in youth communication skills development.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in public speaking, drama, debate coaching, or youth communication skills training.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for ages 7–16.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
- Experience working with diverse groups of children across various cultural backgrounds.
- Creativity and enthusiasm to make learning interactive and enjoyable.
- Familiarity with speechwriting, presentation design, or theater/drama instruction (a plus).
- Certification in public speaking, coaching, or teaching methodologies (preferred but not mandatory).

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
