Join YWCA Hamilton as a Registered Nurse dedicated to improving health and well-being for women and gender-diverse individuals. This contract role focuses on nursing care, community education, and promoting harm reduction. This contract chance involves providing on-site nursing care while supporting a gender-inclusive approach to health services within Hamilton’s community.
The ideal candidate will have experience in substance use, understanding its impacts on diverse populations, and can develop tailored health education. Your focus will be enhancing health equity and working collaboratively with various teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide wound care and STI testing to clients
- Collaborate with shelter teams to create care plans
- Educate clients about gendered health and substance use
- Facilitate health care referrals as necessary
- Maintain accurate client records and report data Requirements:
- BScN or BN nursing degree required
- Registered Nurse status with relevant regulatory body
- 1-3 years’ experience in substance use support
- Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team Support health equity initiatives by leveraging your nursing expertise at YWCA Hamilton.
