The Behavioural

Neurology unit cares for patients with behavioural challenges related to a neurocognitive disease.

We offer a short-term in-hospital program that assesses and treats people with dementia-related behaviours that can put themselves or others at risk.

Job Summary Inpatient Behavioral Neurology Unit on 4 West is a short stay secure inpatient unit for adults with neurologic compromises. It offers a specialized interdisciplinary service that focuses on diagnosis, assessment and treatment of complex neurological diseases and associated behavioural symptoms. The overall goal is to enhance the wellbeing of the client and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities - Provides sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills, acts as clinical expert and resource and provides comprehensive, quality client/family centred health care services from admission, through transfers and discharge - Plans for, delivers and evaluates nursing interventions, including medications,
