Position Summary
Reporting to the registrar, the registration, records, and transfer credit assistant assists the registration and records officers with all tasks related to registration, records, progression, and graduation, and assists the transfer credit coordinator with all tasks related to transfer credit and prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide registration and records support for post-secondary, apprenticeship, dual credit, and continuing education programs, ensuring accurate student enrolment, academic record maintenance, progression, and graduation processing.
- Administer student registration activities, including , registration changes, withdrawals, records management, transcript and credential processing, and maintenance of student information systems.
- Supports transfer credit and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) processes, including application review, fee assessment, evaluation coordination, outcome processing, and follow-up on outstanding assessments.
- Respond to student, faculty, and stakeholder inquiries by phone, email, and in person, delivering timely, accurate, and student-focused service.
- Support academic administration activities, including transfer credits, academic appeals, academic integrity decisions, and record reconciliation.
- Contribute to departmental projects, process improvements, and quality initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Provide operational support for the Welcome Centre and assist with institutional events such as convocation, recruitment activities,
and open houses.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two-year post-secondary diploma
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in an academic environment or office environment
- Experience with information management and record management in a system or database
- Excellent organizational, and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
