Senior AI Business Analyst
Position Summary The Senior AI Business Analyst serves as a strategic advisor, product analyst, and transformation leader responsible for identifying, shaping, and delivering Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Intelligent Automation, and Digital Transformation solutions that create measurable business value. This role partners with business stakeholders, product teams, data scientists, engineers, and executive leaders to identify opportunities, define strategic roadmaps, gather and prioritize requirements, develop business cases, and measure value realization. The Senior AI Business Analyst bridges the gap between business objectives and technical execution, ensuring AI solutions align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, operational processes, and user needs.
The incumbent leads to discovery efforts, facilitates design workshops, develops AI use cases and user stories, establishes business analysis standards, and mentors other business analysts while promoting innovation, adoption, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- AI Strategy & Innovation
- Identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities for AI, Generative AI, Intelligent Automation, and Digital Transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, industry trends, market offerings, and vendor capabilities to recommend innovative solutions.
- Develop strategic roadmaps that align AI investments with business objectives and expected value outcomes.
- Partner with leadership to define enterprise AI adoption strategies and implementation approaches.
- Support AI operating model development, governance frameworks, and organizational readiness planning.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process assessments to identify business challenges and opportunities.
- Translate business objectives into detailed business requirements, functional specifications, process flows,
acceptance criteria, and user stories.
- Build and maintain prioritized product backlogs using Agile methodologies.
- Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, story mapping, and release planning activities.
- Create future-state business process designs that leverage AI to improve efficiency, quality, customer experience, and decision-making.
- Conduct impact assessments and dependency analyses for complex AI initiatives.
- Define AI use cases, personas, business rules, workflow requirements, and operational procedures.
AI Product Ownership Support
- Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Engineering teams to define AI product vision and delivery priorities.
- Support end-to-end AI solution lifecycle management from ideation through deployment and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to refine model requirements, business outcomes, and success criteria.
- Validate that AI solutions effectively address business needs and deliver expected outcomes.
- Assist with release planning, feature prioritization, and value-based decision making.
Process Transformation & Operational Excellence
- Perform business process analysis, process mining, value stream mapping, and workflow optimization.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend AI-enabled transformation opportunities.
- Lead Business Process Reengineering (BPR) initiatives across multiple business functions.
- Facilitate current-state and future-state process design workshops.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize operations.
Value Realization & Analytics
- Develop business cases, financial models, and ROI analyses for AI investments.
- Establish key success metrics, KPIs, adoption metrics,
and value-tracking frameworks.
- Measure and report realized benefits from AI implementations.
- Identify opportunities for optimization and scaling of deployed AI solutions.
- Monitor user adoption, operational performance, and business outcomes.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Facilitate strategic planning sessions and executive workshops.
- Present recommendations, roadmaps, findings, and business cases to senior leadership.
- Communicate risks, dependencies, timelines, milestones, and value realization progress.
- Build consensus among cross-functional teams and drive alignment on priorities and objectives.
- AI Governance, Risk & Responsible AI
- Support implementation of AI governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Evaluate ethical, legal, security, privacy, and operational considerations associated with AI solutions.
- Ensure requirements and solution designs align with organizational governance standards.
- Assist in developing standards, controls, and best practices for responsible AI adoption.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor business analysts across multiple initiatives.
- Establish standards, templates, methodologies, and best practices for business analysis activities.
- Review and provide quality assurance for requirements, documentation, user stories, and deliverables.
- Support capability development and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the AI practice.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provides technical and functional leadership to Business Analysts and Associate Business Analysts.
- Establishes business analysis methodologies, standards, governance processes, and quality controls.
- Reviews work products and provides coaching, feedback, and mentorship.
- Supports workforce planning, onboarding, training, and development activities.
- Contributes to performance management and growth opportunities discussions.
