About the Position

Oakforge Home Renovations is looking for an experienced Renovation Lead to run day-to-day work on residential renovation sites in occupied client homes across Ottawa. You'll perform skilled interior renovation and carpentry work, plan and sequence the daily work, lead and mentor crew members, and be the main point of contact on site.

Responsibilities

- Perform skilled renovation work including demolition, layout, framing, carpentry, drywall, tiling, flooring, finishes and deficiency correction
- Plan daily work, sequence tasks, and coordinate crew, materials, tools and trades
- Direct, mentor and support assigned crew members; set clear scope, quality and safety expectations; verify completed work
- Act as in office supervisor when designated: project orientation, hazard assessments, inspections, incident reporting and corrective actions
- Communicate respectfully and promptly with clients, and report progress and constraints to the office
- Recognize when work requires a permit, an engineer or a licensed trade (electrical, plumbing, gas, structural, designated substances) and escalate before proceeding




- Protect client homes, and maintain tools, vehicles, records and a clean, organized site
- Report damage, defects, incidents and changed conditions immediately

Qualifications

- 10+ years of residential renovation experience
- Extensive experience in carpentry, drywall, tiling, flooring and painting
- Experience leading or mentoring others on site
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle required

Certifications (preferred, training provided if missing)

- Working at Heights
- WHMIS
- First Aid/CPR
- Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness
