Reid’s Dairy's retail store in Whitby is currently accepting resumes seeking a mature, dedicated, and experienced Retail Store Assistant Manager. This is a full-time position.

In this role, the successful candidate will be required to assist the Retail Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the retail store while maintaining the highest quality of customer service and leadership. We are looking for an ideal candidate that will be able to represent the company in a professional manner, will have a pleasant customer service mannerism, knowledge and ability to operate a point-of-sale system, ability to assist the Retail Store Manager with hiring, training and supervision of staff members, efficient in ordering and managing store inventories, excellent communication skills both verbal and written, be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks, effective time management skills, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, must have a positive attitude, and adhere to safety compliance and GMP policies and procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Assisting the Retail Store Manager in overseeing the daily functions of managing the retail store;
- Greeting the public and handling customer service-related questions, concerns, and inquiries;
- Assisting the Retail Store Manager in preparing the weekly staff schedules to ensure shift coverage while assisting where required;
- Supervising staff members while ensuring proper training is provided;
- Completing daily sales paperwork and balance sheets;
- Maintaining store cleanliness and visual presentation;
- Opening and closing the retail store;
- Ordering product and managing inventories;
- Knowledge and adherence to GMP, food safety, and proper cleaning and sanitation practices;




- Operating a point-of-sale system to process credit/debit purchases;
- Monitoring product quality and employee health and safety;
- Physical lifting is required (up to 40-50 lbs.);
- Standing for prolonged periods of time;
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment;
- Preparing and serving ice cream-related food products;
- Cleaning and sanitizing food equipment and machinery.

Essential Skills:

- Previous retail management experience in a retail, customer-focused supervisory position.
- Flexibility regarding availability schedule which may include days, evenings, or weekend shifts.
- Robust communication skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to effectively manage, prioritize, and delegate tasks.
- Must be passionate about customer service and ensuring the needs of our customers are met on a continuous basis.
- Certified food handler certificate, or willingness to obtain one, is considered an asset.
