Position Overview

MintInk Sports Cards Inc. is looking for a motivated and dependable Retail Team Lead to join our Oakville retail team.

The Team Lead is a key member of the store leadership team and supports the Store Manager and Assistant Manager with the day-to-day operation of the location. This is a hands-on retail position that combines customer service, sales, merchandising, inventory support, and shift leadership.

The successful candidate will lead by example on the sales floor, help maintain company standards, support and coach Retail Sales Associates, and take on additional responsibility for opening, closing, and supervising the store when required.

This role is ideal for someone with strong retail experience who is ready to take the next step into leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Support

· Support the Store Manager and Assistant Manager with daily store operations

· Provide direction and support to Retail Sales Associates during assigned shifts

· Lead by example through strong customer service, sales performance, professionalism, and accountability

· Help coach team members on customer engagement, product knowledge, sales techniques, and store procedures

· Assist with onboarding and training new employees

· Help ensure daily tasks and operational priorities are completed

· Act as a key holder and assist with opening and closing the store

· Help maintain a positive, organized, and team-focused work environment

Sales & Customer Experience

· Welcome and engage customers while delivering a knowledgeable and skilled in-store experience

· Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products

· Drive sales through product recommendations, upselling, add-ons, and current promotions





· Build strong relationships with new and returning customers

· Support team members in achieving sales goals and delivering consistent customer service

· Educate customers on products, new releases, promotions, grading services, and upcoming events

· Assist with resolving customer concerns and escalate issues to management when appropriate

Store Operations

· Process POS transactions accurately and efficiently

· Assist with cash handling and end-of-day procedures

· Complete opening and closing duties according to company standards

· Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and visually appealing sales floor

· Ensure store policies and procedures are followed during assigned shifts

· Support loss prevention and product security procedures

· Assist with store events, promotions, and major product releases

Merchandising & Inventory

· Assist with receiving, restocking, and merchandising product

· Maintain product displays and visual merchandising standards

· Support inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock checks

· Assist with inter-store transfers and receiving inventory

· Help identify stock shortages, merchandising opportunities, and inventory discrepancies

· Ensure product is accurately priced, displayed, and organized

Qualifications

· Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience is required

· Previous Team Lead, Key Holder, Supervisor, or leadership experience is preferred

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Confident engaging customers and contributing to sales goals

· Reliable, organized, and able to take ownership of assigned responsibilities





· Comfortable providing direction and support to other team members

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment

· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow operational procedures

· Experience with Shopify POS or a similar retail POS system is an asset

· Knowledge of sports cards, trading card games, collectibles, or the hobby industry is considered an asset

Availability

This is a Full-Time position requiring flexible availability based on business needs.

Candidates must be available to work a combination of:

· Weekdays

· Evenings

· Weekends

· Holidays

· Special events and major product releases as required

Compensation

Starting rate: $21.00+ per hour, based on experience.
