Job Summary

We are seeking a Sales & Events Manager who will lead and manage the sales team, setting clear expectations, monitoring individual and team performance, and providing ongoing coaching and support. The person in this role oversees the systems, process, and follow-up activities that move prospective clients from initial enquiry through consultation, proposal and contract, with a focus on achieving sales targets and securing profitable bookings. Once a booking is confirmed, they ensure the client is transitioned smoothly int the planning process, with accurate information, explicit responsibilities and consistent service throughout the client journey.

Responsibilities

- Set sales goals with the General Manager, operating expectations and clear ownership across lead response, wedding sales, events and catering sales, and event services.
- Manage, coach, and develop the team through regular one-on-ones, pipeline reviews, performance feedback, objective setting, and accountable follow-through.
- Own sales forecasting, booking pace, conversion performance, lead distribution, pipeline health, CRM discipline, and forecast accuracy.
- Plan team capacity and schedules across tours, planning meetings, food tasting & planning meetings, event-day coverage, vacations, and seasonal peaks.




- Establish and continuously improve the end-to-end workflow from enquiry through qualification (with the Marketing & Strategic Growth Manager), tour, proposal, contract, deposit, execution (with kitchen and operational departments), planning and post-event follow-up.
- Partner with Marketing & Strategic Growth Manager on demand needs, lead quality, campaigns, pricing, packages, and commercial reporting.
- Partner with Operations, Culinary, and the General Manager to ensure sold promises are deliverable, event plans are clear, and bookings meet profitability expectations.
- Resolve significant client, commercial, and team escalations; support major accounts and difficult negotiations.
- Assist the HR Advisor with hiring.
- Manage onboarding, performance management, leave approval and role clarity for the department.
- Run a concise weekly meeting and ensure a reliable wedding production/BEO meeting cadence is in place.
- Assist with tours/viewings during peak times.
- Manage own portfolio of weddings (approximately 10 per year).

Qualifications
- 3-5 years progressive sales and people-leadership experience in hospitality, venues, weddings, catering, hotels or complex service sales.
- Demonstrated ability to coach varied teams, manage performance and create accountability with empathy and clarity.
- Strong command of pipeline management, forecasting, and CRMs.
- Experience building cross-functional processes and coordinating sales commitments with operational delivery.
- Sound financial judgment, including contribution, discounting, capacity, and booking-quality trade-offs.
- Calm credible escalation management and flexibility to be present during priority events and peak periods.

Pay: $95,000.00 per year
