Overview
Join our agile salvage yard team as a Parts Remover Mechanic, where your mechanical skills and hands-on expertise will play a vital role in efficiently dismantling vehicles and removing valuable parts. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced workplace dedicated to sustainable recycling and resource recovery. As a key contributor, you will help ensure safety, accuracy, and productivity in every task you undertake, supporting our mission to maximize vehicle reuse and environmental responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Use mechanical knowledge to safely dismantle vehicles and remove specific parts with precision.
- Operate hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble vehicles efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols consistently to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Identify, catalog, and remove salvageable parts, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Assist with the cleanup of work areas, maintaining a tidy and organized yard.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily removal targets while adhering to quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
Experience
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge gained through previous work experience or technical training.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc., for disassembly tasks.
- Experience operating power tools like drills, grinders, or impact wrenches is highly desirable.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures diligently.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks throughout shifts.
- Prior experience working in salvage yards or automotive dismantling environments is a plus but not required.
- Prior experience with the use of a skid steer would be a plus, but not required.
- You will require your own basic hand tools, specialist tools are provided.
