Our client, a growing private company in the trucking & transportation industry, is looking to hire an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager to join their team on a permanent fulltime basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing all day-to-day accounting transactions including AP, AR and Billing, leading the month-end close including reviewing and posting JE's, high-volume Bank Reconciliations for multiple accounts, Fixed Assets/depreciation, revenue recognition, and preparation of the monthly financial reporting package under ASPE (including Income Statement/Balance Sheet/Cashflow, and Management Reporting). There will also be a significant focus on Process Documentation & Process Improvement, Automation, and developing & implementing Internal Controls.

1+ year of accounting experience in the Trucking/Transportation or Logistics industry is an absolute must-have, as well as 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience. Direct or Indirect Supervisory experience, and/or a CPA designation (completed or in-progress), would be an asset but not required. Experience with Axon, TruckMate TMS, Trimble TMW, or similar Trucking industry Accounting/ERP systems would be a definite asset.

Please note this position is based 100% on-site/in-office in Southeast Calgary, so it will require the successful candidate to be living in the Calgary area full-time.
