Senior Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant

Reports to: Managing Partner

Position: Full-Time

Location: Six Nations of the Grand River

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant to join our professional accounting practice.

This position reports directly to the Managing Partner and provides accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation and administrative support across a diverse portfolio of individual and small-business clients.

This is a hands-on role in a busy professional practice. The successful candidate must be comfortable managing multiple client files, working independently on routine matters, meeting firm deadlines and recognizing when an accounting or tax matter requires review by the Managing Partner.

The ideal candidate does not need constant direction for routine accounting and bookkeeping tasks. They should be able to work through a client file, identify what is missing, complete the work within their level of responsibility and recognize when something requires additional technical review.

Because we are a small practice, flexibility is important. While accounting and tax work will form the core of this position, everyone contributes where necessary to ensure clients are looked after and the office operates effectively.
