Who we are
ORIGNIX is a specialist advisory and delivery firm at the convergence of cybersecurity, physical security, information technology, operational technology, and engineered systems. We help organizations understand complex risk, strengthen resilience, and deliver the security, technology, and infrastructure programs their critical operations depend on.
What you will do
You will join our engagement team in Calgary and lead the communications and coordination that help an organization understand a complex program, what it means for its people and operations, and what is being decided along the way.
Technologists, architects, and business leaders shape and deliver the work. You determine what the wider organization needs to understand and when, and produce the materials that make it clear.
The work moves quickly. Requirements shift, designs change, and decisions create recent implications. You stay close enough to the work to recognize those implications early and act on them.
You will work directly with project leads, architects, business leaders, and senior executives, bringing sound judgment, clear communication, and disciplined follow-through.
Your impact
- Shape the executive story. Develop presentation-ready materials for steering committees, directors, and advisory groups, with clear narratives and visuals, on the required schedule.
- Maintain the governance record. Capture decisions, actions, and accountabilities from governance meetings, and update the record within one business day.
- Analyze and translate complex work. Clarify the business implications of technical and strategic decisions, and translate them into accurate, plain-language materials that senior leaders can understand and use.
- Anticipate the implications. Recognize what decisions and changes mean for the organization and its stakeholders. Identify who needs to know what, and when.
- Lead the communications. Own a communications calendar tied to delivery milestones,
and write the briefings and updates that keep stakeholders informed and prepared.
- Connect the work. Track actions and dependencies across technical, operational, and business teams and vendors. Follow commitments through to completion, flag slippage early, and bring forward gaps that no single workstream can see.
- Support the business. Follow each business area’s questions through to resolution so every area understands its responsibilities when the capability is tested or put into use.
Your qualifications
- Experience in communications or business analysis on large technology programs, including producing material for director and vice-president audiences.
- Experience coordinating across multiple delivery teams and vendors, maintaining action and dependency logs, and following through with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to independently produce finished executive materials in PowerPoint and Word, including clear diagrams and visuals.
- Ability to follow evolving technical and strategic discussions, understand their implications for different audiences, and communicate clearly and credibly with senior leaders.
- Sound judgment when the answer is not yet fully formed: asking the right questions, recognizing what needs attention, and moving the work forward without waiting for every development to become an assignment.
- Experience with resilience, business continuity, or incident-related programs is a strong advantage.
- Experience in critical infrastructure, energy, industrial environments, or another complex or regulated industry is preferred.
How we work We operate as one firm: senior leaders engaged in the work, a shared standard across every engagement, and the full strength of the firm behind every team. We measure our success not simply by what we deliver, but by what endures: organizations stronger and more resilient than we found them.
Application question(s)
- Have you personally drafted executive communications, briefing materials, or talking points for a vice-president or more senior audience? Identify the audience by role, the program, and the type of material you produced.
- Describe a cybersecurity, IT, or disaster recovery engagement you worked on. What was its objective, what was your role, and which deliverables did you personally produce? Distinguish your contribution from the input or production support provided by others.
- Describe a time an overdue commitment affected work across multiple teams or vendors. How did you assess the impact, follow up with the owner, and decide whether and when to escalate? What happened as a result?
- Describe a meeting you documented where an important point could easily have been recorded incorrectly—for example, a conditional decision, a tentative commitment, an unresolved disagreement, or a possible change in scope. What did you hear, how did you record it, and how did you confirm that the record accurately reflected what had been agreed or left unresolved?
- Describe how you build a single slide for a senior leadership audience. Take one slide you personally created and explain its purpose. Then walk through its anatomy: what goes in the title, what goes directly under it, how the body is organized, and what sits at the bottom, if anything. For each element you used, explain why it is there and what the reader is meant to understand or do as a result.
