One of Canada's most well known builders is looking to hire a Senior Estimator to oversee projects in the Greater Toronto area.

Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the estimating process, including labour, material, equipment, and trade pricing, with support from the wider estimating team.
- Work closely with estimating, virtual construction, and project management teams to deliver a strong, value-focused preconstruction service.
- Review labour requirements and develop detailed labour breakdowns to support project budgets and planning.
- Review drawings and designs to identify potential cost savings, efficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Review project scopes to ensure estimates are complete and accurately capture specifications, subcontractor scopes, general conditions, and other project costs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with trades and suppliers, creating opportunities for long-term partnerships.
- Prepare conceptual estimates from early-stage drawings through to detailed and final cost analysis.
- Monitor estimated costs against actual project costs and help identify variances throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in design, preconstruction, and project meetings with owners,



consultants, and internal teams.
- Support the development and mentoring of junior and emerging estimators within the team.

Experience

- 6+ years of estimating experience, ideally working on complex construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, trade practices, building materials, and current market conditions.
- Comfortable using on-screen takeoff software and Excel for estimating and cost analysis.
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Building Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or a related field.
- Robust attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality of work.
- Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to navigate difficult conversations and challenging situations.
- Strong ability to communicate and build relationships with employees, owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
