Senior Financial Analyst – Accounting & Controls

Location: Toronto or Waterloo, ON

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days onsite with flexibility

Duration: 12 months

Role Overview

Seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support legal entity accounting, financial reporting and control activities within an Asset Management environment. The role will support monthly and quarterly close processes, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, audits and ongoing finance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Support monthly and quarterly accounting close activities.
- Prepare and post journal entries in SAP.
- Complete account reconciliations, reporting and financial analysis.
- Assist with preparation and review of legal entity financial statements.
- Perform variance analysis and investigate accounting/reporting discrepancies.
- Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements.
- Coordinate audit deliverables and respond to auditor requests.
- Establish and maintain strong financial controls and governance processes.
- Document and operationalize new accounting and finance processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.




- Partner with Finance and other internal teams on projects and initiatives.

Must-Have Qualifications
- 5–7 years of finance, accounting or financial reporting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
- Strong experience with financial close, reconciliations, journal entries and reporting.
- Experience working with financial reporting systems and tools.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within tight reporting deadlines.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Have
- CPA, CA, CMA or CGA designation, strongly preferred.
- SAP experience.
- Financial services experience, particularly Asset Management.
- Power BI and/or Tableau.
- Experience supporting financial controls, regulatory reporting and audits.
