Role Description The Senior Manager, Health Information Governance & Privacy is responsible for overseeing the management, protection, and appropriate use of health information across Fred Victor’s programs and services. This role leads the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to health information governance, privacy, and compliance with relevant legislation and standards. Day-to-day activities include supervising health information processes, ensuring accurate and secure medical records handling, monitoring data quality, and coordinating audits and risk assessments.
The Senior
Manager collaborates with program leaders and frontline teams to provide guidance on privacy practices,
supports staff training, and responds to privacy incidents or inquiries. The role also involves working with leadership to align health information practices with organizational goals, reporting on key metrics, and recommending improvements to systems and workflows.
Qualifications
- Health information domain experience, including Health Information Management and HIM, with a robust understanding of privacy legislation and standards.
- Information and records management skills, including Information Management and Medical Records, with experience implementing secure data handling and documentation practices.
- Experience in community health, social services, or a related sector, with familiarity in working with populations experiencing homelessness and poverty considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment abilities, with proven capacity to develop and enforce policies and procedures.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to provide training, guidance, and support to multidisciplinary teams in a remote environment.
- Post-secondary education in Health Information Management, Business Administration, Law, Privacy Management, Health Administration, Public Health, Information Management, or a related field; professional certifications in privacy or information management are an advantage.
