The Nunavik Police

Service (SPN) is the regional police service for Nunavik. SERGEANT-INVESTIGATOR The Sergeant-Investigator provides guidance to patrol officers during investigations and serves as a mentor to them. Plan, lead and conduct criminal and penal investigations in accordance with legal requirements, applicable standards and NPS directives

- Conduct interviews and interrogations in accordance with applicable case law, training standards and best investigative practices
- Contribute to the collection and analysis of criminal intelligence, particularly with respect to crime prevention, drug trafficking and alcohol smuggling
- Establish and maintain working relationships with the population, socio-economic and community partners, as well as government organizations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the case law and legal documentation relevant to investigations
- Travel frequently to the northern villages, as required by operational needs
- Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of the community and cultural issues of Nunavik, intelligence-gathering processes, conflict management practices, applicable legislation, and NPS policies, procedures and strategies
- Have successfully completed the basic training program in police investigation offered by the École nationale de police du Québec
- Fluency (verbal and written) in English is essential; knowledge of Inuktitut and French will be considered an asset.

Experience in a multicultural workplace will be considered an asset.



Travel time allowance to compensate for travel time between the southern part of the province and Nunavik

- Rotation schedule of two weeks of work followed by two weeks off, promoting work-life balance Members are entitled to eight weeks of paid leave per year, equivalent to two full rotation periods.
