Overview

Sammi & Soup Dumpling (Kerrisdale) is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Server/Cashier to join our front-of-house team. This position combines customer service, cashier duties, dining-room support, takeout preparation, and daily opening/closing responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to cleanliness, comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, and able to work cooperatively with other team members.

Responsibilities

- Provide friendly and efficient service to dine-in and takeout customers.
- Take orders, process payments, and handle cash.
- Prepare and maintain tables, condiments, utensils, and takeout supplies.
- Keep the dining room, front counter, service areas, and washrooms clean and organized.
- Restock beverages, packaging, and other front-of-house supplies as needed.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including equipment checks, cash reconciliation, cleaning, and shutdown procedures.
- Check reservations and communicate important information with the team.
- Follow restaurant hygiene, food safety, and operational procedures.




- Support other front-of-house duties as needed to keep service running smoothly

Qualifications

- Previous restaurant, cashier, server, or customer-service experience is an asset.
- Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash accurately.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Able to stay organized and work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Solid attention to cleanliness, presentation, and detail.
- Willing to perform routine cleaning and restocking duties as part of the position.
- Able to work independently while also cooperating with servers, kitchen staff, and other front-of-house team members.
- Dependable and punctual, with the ability to follow daily opening, service, and closing procedures.
- Comfortable working a combination of daytime, evening, weekend, and closing shifts as scheduled.
- Able to remain on your feet and perform regular restaurant duties throughout the shift.

Pay: From $18.25 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
