Summary of Duties: To provide a full range of social work services to adults, adolescents and their families in the Ambulatory Outpatient Mental Health Division, including those who present in emerge. Services include comprehensive assessments of individuals in crisis, family functioning, time limited and goal oriented family counselling (psycho-education regarding mental illness, assistance with parenting and limit setting, mediation assistance with resolving conflict); and facilitaes referrals to community resources. crisis assessments/triage for patients referred through Emergency Department; assessment and programming for clients from the emergency,



inpatient and youth streams Masters Degree in Social Work required ~ Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a MSW in an Ambulatory/ Outpatient Mental Health setting ~3-4 years’ expereice in Mental Health Crisis ~ Commitment to Patient-focused care ~ Extensive experience with Family Therapy using attachment and developmental stages theories, apply ~ Brief solution Focused Therapy ~ Crisis intervention techniques and risk assessment techniques ~ Knowledge of learning disabilities and the relationship with mental health ~ Knowledge of the health care system and community resources ~ Commitment to student education ~
