About VelvetMoo

VelvetMoo is a premium café and A2 milk bar in Downtown Oakville, serving specialty coffee, signature milk drinks, freshly churned gelato, desserts, and food.

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Store Manager who can lead our team, deliver excellent customer service, and take ownership of daily café operations.

Your role

You will work closely with the owner to build a reliable team and keep the café running smoothly. This is an active role that includes serving customers, supporting staff during busy periods, and maintaining consistent standards.

Responsibilities

- Manage daily operations, including opening and closing.
- Lead, train, and support baristas, front-of-house staff, and kitchen staff.
- Prepare schedules, coordinate coverage, and manage labour effectively.
- Maintain high standards for drinks, food, presentation, cleanliness, and service.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and employee development.
- Monitor inventory, place orders, and reduce waste.
- Handle customer concerns professionally.
- Oversee cash handling, POS procedures, and daily reporting.
- Maintain food safety and workplace standards.
- Create a respectful, organized workplace with transparent communication.
- Resolve day-to-day issues independently and keep the owner informed.

What we’re looking for
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality business.




- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Experience training staff and managing busy service periods.
- Barista experience and knowledge of espresso preparation preferred.
- Confidence with scheduling, inventory, and POS systems; Toast experience is an asset.
- A dependable, calm approach and strong attention to detail.
- Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Experience and References
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality business is required.
- Experience leading staff, preparing schedules, training employees, and overseeing daily operations is required.
- Candidates must provide two professional references, preferably from previous managers or employers, before an offer is finalized.
