About Us

Calgary Foothills Soccer Club is one of Canada's premier youth soccer organizations, committed to developing players through an integrated performance model. Our Performance Department combines sport science, video analysis, mental performance, nutrition, and individualized player development to help athletes maximize their potential.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Sport Science Trainers to join our growing Performance Department.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Performance, Sport Science Trainers will deliver athletic development sessions that enhance players' physical performance while supporting our long-term player development philosophy.

Working with athletes from U11–U18, you will lead sessions focused on speed, movement quality, agility, strength, injury prevention, recovery, and physical literacy within a structured club curriculum.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in a high-performance youth sport environment while working alongside an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver sport science sessions before and after team training.
- Lead warm-ups, movement preparation, speed, agility, coordination, and athletic development activities.
- Deliver injury prevention and return-to-play progressions.
- Support physical testing including sprint, agility, jump, and endurance assessments.
- Assist with player monitoring and data collection.
- Collaborate with coaches and Performance Department staff.
- Ensure a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.

Weekly Commitment





Typical responsibilities include

- Evening training sessions (Monday–Thursday)
- Occasional Friday evenings or weekend support
- Adaptable scheduling based on club programming

Qualifications

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about athlete development and enjoy working in a team environment.

Preferred Background

- Degree (completed or in progress) in Kinesiology, Athletic Therapy, Strength & Conditioning, Sport Science, or a related field

Desired Skills

- Experience coaching or working with youth athletes
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Positive coaching style and ability to build relationships
- Excellent organization and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Assets

- First Aid / CPR
- Athletic Therapy Certification (or student)
- NCCP Coaching Certification

Compensation

Compensation is based on qualifications and experience.
