The Buyer is responsible for tactically replenish and maintain adequate inventory levels of cannabis to support manufacturing and product development. The successful candidate will be able to perform procurement activities while meeting KPIs. Strong vendor relationship management and a process improvement approach will be among the pillars for success.
Tactically replenish cannabis to optimize facility and commercial operations. Issue purchase orders to suppliers with accurate vendor, product, and cost information. Maintain inventory levels within min / max targets set by Sr.
Ensure supplier compliance on KPIs (fill rate, on time delivery and PO order lead times). Immediately resolve purchase order discrepancies. Escalate and obtain resolution on supplier quality related incidents in a timely fashion Resolve issues related to supplier non-compliance on warehouse receiving paperwork.
Tracks spend approvals for all purchase order ensuring alignment with DOA (delegation of authority) matrix Expedite purchase orders where necessary to meet scheduling and product launch requirements. Communicate order status exceptions, contract obligations,
and post-receipt actions to all internal cross functional stakeholders. Ensure optimized purchase order management which supports production schedules, suppliers’ price break points and storage restrictions.
Strategically engage with supplier community and internal stakeholders. Identify and resolve risks to supply continuity. Build and support strong long-term relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Identify waste and seek opportunities for cost reduction in the supply chain. Work cross-functionally with commercial, operations & QA to source and develop recent materials sources.
Culture Building
Work in a customer centric manner Minimum 3 years of experience in cannabis procurement. ~ Degree in business or certification in supply chain or related discipline (SCMP, CIPS, CPIM, CPSM) ~2+ years in production or manufacturing environment would be an asset. ~ Excel at working independently and with exceptional problem-solving skills ~ Computer literate with exceptional skills in Microsoft Office ~ Worked with Sage X3 or other ERP systems, Microsoft Power Bi, Smartsheet, or other analytical tools Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Accessibility At Aurora, we are proud to foster and celebrate a diverse community of professionals!
