NAIT International

Edmonton

At NAIT, we’re passionate about building a team of talented, dedicated professionals who share our commitment to excellence and innovation. Your skills and experience can shape the future of education and make a real impact in our community. Please note that Workday closes job postings at 11:59pm MST on the day before the posting end date listed above.

Our integrations work behind the scenes to support students and staff at every stage of their experience with NAIT. Our team delivers a contemporary, event‑driven, API‑first cloud integration platform that connects systems across the institution, and we're bringing AI‑assisted development into how we design, build, test and document our work. We're looking for a hands‑on senior analyst who writes quality code and takes ownership of problems from diagnosis through to a tested, documented fix.

Design, build, test, deploy and support integrations between enterprise systems using NAIT's integration stack (SnapLogic, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management, Azure Functions, SQL). Gather requirements with business units and vendors, then handle design, build, testing, user acceptance support, change management, production support and hand‑off.

Help define and apply integration standards: event‑driven patterns, message contracts, API design, error handling and idempotency, monitoring, and secrets management. Keep quality high. Review peers' code and pipelines, write automated tests, use source control and deployment pipelines, and mentor other analysts.

Work with data. Write and tune complex SQL. Troubleshoot data quality and survivorship issues across person, student and employee data, including master data management (MDM). Use AI responsibly. Use AI‑assisted development tools to speed up design, coding, testing and documentation, following NAIT's AI governance and data classification standards.

Take part in Scrum ceremonies, estimate and track work in Azure DevOps, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.

Provide integration design and delivery for institutional projects such as Workday, Slate, the digital student ID and future student system work.

Strong SQL skills: complex queries, performance tuning and data troubleshooting on relational databases (SQL Server and/or Oracle). Proficiency in at least one modern programming language. C#/.NET is preferred; Python, Java or TypeScript are also considered. Solid understanding of APIs (REST and SOAP), JSON and XML, authentication (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect), and messaging concepts (queues, topics, retries, idempotency).

Software engineering practices: Git, automated testing, CI/CD and code review. Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Assets to the role Microsoft Azure: Service Bus, Functions, API Management, Key Vault, Cosmos DB, or infrastructure as code (Bicep, Terraform). Integration experience with Workday, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Salesforce, ServiceNow or Slate. Master data management (for example, Semarchy), data modelling, or Microsoft Fabric. Hands‑on use of AI coding assistants (for example GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Codex) within a disciplined review and testing workflow.

Experience in post‑secondary or public sector environments, and with Agile/Scrum. Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field (a degree is an asset), or an equivalent combination of education and experience [5+] years of experience in systems integration, software development or data engineering, including building and supporting integrations in production.

Relevant certifications (for example Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, SnapLogic, Salesforce or Workday integration) are an asset.
