Channer's Mens Apparel is located in the heart of Uptown Waterloo and has been serving the community as a high-end clothier for 18 years. We are looking for an experienced tailor to join our team to continue providing a complete in-house clothing service.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tailor to join our team, committed to delivering high-quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service. In this role, you will be responsible for altering and repairing garments to meet precise specifications and customer expectations. The successful candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, solid technical skills, and a passion for tailoring that ensures every piece is crafted with excellence.

Responsibilities

- Sew, alter, and repair clothing items with precision and attention to detail.
- Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and adherence to design standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly care for tools and equipment.




- Collaborate with staff and/or clients on custom tailoring projects.
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
- Ensure all garments meet quality expectations.
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.

Experience

- Proven experience as a tailor or in a similar garment-making role.
- Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, pattern making, and fabric properties.
- Basic math skills for measurements, pattern adjustments, and calculations.
- Excellent customer service skills to engage with clients professionally.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or specifications accurately.
- Familiarity with various sewing machines, tools, and tailoring equipment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship quality.

Pay: $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week

Ability to commute/relocate

- Waterloo, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:
- tailoring: 2 years (preferred)
