Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Temporary Part-Time Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to join our Afternoon Senior School-age Program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with children in a dynamic, supportive environment, fostering their growth and development. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive space for children while supporting their educational and social needs.

This position is ideal for passionate individuals eager to make a positive impact on children's lives through quality childcare and early education practices. The hours will be a full 7 hours on non-instructional days and when the permanent room staff is away.

Duties

- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities, adapting activities as necessary to ensure inclusion.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster a cooperative environment.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's progress, attendance, and incident reports.




- Use computer skills to record data, update schedules, and communicate with team members efficiently.

Requirements

- Valid certification as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or Early Childhood Assistant (ECA).
- Experience working with children in childcare, classroom settings, or early childhood education environments.
- Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen and Emergent Curriculum considered an asset
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Competence in computer operation for documentation, communication, and program planning purposes.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide children positively and confidently.

Pay: $28.00-$29.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 17.5 per week
