About The Hollyburn Society The Hollyburn Society is an independent registered charity serving people across Vancouver’s North Shore. Since 2004, we have helped youth, seniors, families, survivors of violence, and people facing housing instability find safety, stability, housing, and support when they are stuck in a tough situation.

We are seeking a Temporary Part-time Tenant Support Worker to provide short-term program coverage during a leave of absence.

The Tenant Support Worker supports youth and young adults, at-risk seniors, and families to achieve and maintain long-term housing stability and tenancy success. This role provides individualized tenancy support, helps tenants meet their lease obligations, addresses tenancy-related concerns, and connects individuals and families with community resources and wrap-around supports that promote housing stability and well-being.

Qualifications

- Tenancy Support experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of issues and community resources specific to youth, seniors, and families.
- Working knowledge of trauma, mental health, addictions and the dynamics of abuse.
- Familiarity with the Residential Tenancy Act, housing issues, emergency and housing options
- Hold a valid B.C. Driver’s License and access to an insured vehicle.





Certificates & Desired Skills:
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
- Rapport building.
- de-escalation and emotional regulation skills.
- Conflict resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients to review tenancy agreements, and set up utilities, insurance, and other tenancy requirements.
- Facilitate/organize recreational activities for seniors in community settings
- Meet with the landlord or property manager to address any issues that may arise.
- Assists tenants with unit issues, including assisting in minor cleaning and maintenance and repair work such as the replacement of bulbs, etc.
- Monitor the condition of the tenant’s unit, addressing hoarding, pest control, and cleanliness as required.
- Initiate or manage integrated case management meetings as required.
- Support the tenant by providing resources and assistance for tenants to move in, arranging rent payments, assisting the tenant to acquire furnishings where required, and making social connections.
- Notify the case manager of any health, mental health, personal crisis, or tenancy issues and concerns

Pay: $30.38 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 per week
