Trademark Clerk :

Our firm is seeking a Trademark Clerk with 2-3 years of recent trademark experience to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing roster of clients while providing exceptional, responsive, and timely service. Our team works with a diverse range of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to emerging businesses and entrepreneurs,



and takes pride in delivering high-quality, client-focused service.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and a high volume of work. They will work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrate initiative and adaptability, and provide support on domestic and foreign trademark matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Drafting/filing trademark applications and reporting post-filing correspondence;
- Coordinating trademark filings outside Canada;
- Responding to technical objections raised by Canadian Examiners;
- Filing trademark registration renewal requests;
- Processing correspondence regarding S. 45 and opposition matters;
- Preparing and filing extension of time requests;
- Updating docketing system; and
- Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

- 2-3 years of recent trademark experience.
- Patent law experience is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of work efficiently and prioritize competing demands.
- Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm, adaptability, and ability to shift priorities quickly in a fast-paced workplace.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Solid research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook,



document management systems.
- Experience with patent and trademark software (e.g., Pattsy, Alt Legal) is considered an asset.
- Completion of Law Clerk program recognized by the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) and a member in good standing with ILCO considered an asset.

Compensation:

The expected annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$75,000.00. Compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the successful candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job-related knowledge. We are committed to equitable and competitive compensation that aligns with internal salary structures and external market benchmarks. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
