Welder / Fabricator/Apprentice

Job Summary

GNB is looking for a Welder/Fabricator to join our team. Apprentices will be considered. We are open to candidates with various levels of experience, including apprentices who are motivated to learn and develop their skills.

This is a hands-on role involving welding, fabrication, assembly, repairs, and general shop work. The right person will take pride in their work, pay attention to detail, work safely, and be willing to take on a variety of tasks as needed.

Responsibilities & Skills

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and project specifications
- Perform welding, fabrication, assembly, and repair work
- Assist with various welding and fabrication tasks as required
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and shop machinery safely and effectively
- Accurately measure and lay out materials using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools
- Perform basic math calculations for measurements and fabrication
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company and site safety procedures
- Work in a physically active environment involving standing, bending, lifting, and working around machinery




- Work both in our facility and on job sites as required
- Camp work may be required
- Be willing to take on a variety of tasks beyond welding and fabrication when needed

Qualifications
- Various levels of experience will be considered
- Welding/fabrication experience or apprenticeship training is an asset
- Robust desire to learn and develop technical skills
- Ability to read drawings and follow instructions
- Good attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Safety-conscious and dependable
- Comfortable working independently as well as as part of a team
- Physically capable of performing the requirements of the position
- Valid driver's licence is required
