Dawson Co-op invites applications for the position of Yard Supervisor to join our team at our Home and Agro Centre located in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

The Yard Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Yard Manager with day-to-day and overall yard operations, including supervising the team of Yard Clerks, maintaining yard equipment and inventory.

Reporting to the Yard Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

- Assist with the preparation, administration and responsibility of the day-to-day and overall operations of the Yard outside of the Home and Agro Store
- Assist with maintenance of Yard equipment, materials and storage
- Pre-build outgoing orders and direct unloading efforts
- Supervise and provide guidance to Yard Clerks, and ensure all staff adhere to standards for merchandising, housekeeping, appearance, marketing efforts and loss prevention
- Ensure adherence to the “Image Checklist” for facilities and equipment
- Ensure claims, invoices and all other paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely manner, while following all procedure requirements
- Work to understand the point of sale (“POS”) system and be able to search for and find information to assist customers
- Over see bulk feed operations and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
- Oversee receiving and placement of agro orders and shipments in the yard, including feed, panels, equipment, etc.
- Ensure proper communication, documentation, and storage of special customer orders
- Organize and maintain feed shed on a daily basis,



while also forecasting storage needs for upcoming feed orders
- Opening and closing shifts and duties as assigned
- Adhere to and enforce all Dawson Co-operative Union policies and procedures
- Adhere to and enforce all Dawson Co-operative Union health and safety standards, per the Health and Safety manual
- Plan for self development and take initiative to improve own knowledge, skills and abilities
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Minimum of grade 12 education
- Previous leadership experience
- Prior experience in a supervisory role
- Positive and results oriented attitude; to prospect, communicate and identify opportunities for success
- Motivated self-starter
- Mechanically inclined
- Valid Class Five driver’s licence with a clean abstract, Class 3 drivers license is an asset
- Strong ability to manage relationships at all levels

Compensation & Benefits:

- Between $21.05 - $31.58 per hour, based on qualifications & experience.
