We are a family in Waterdown (Hamilton), Ontario looking for a warm and dependable part-time Mother’s Helper/Family Assistant to support our family while my husband is away from January-October 2027. We’re hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and is caring, patient, thoughtful and gentle in their approach.

This is a live-out position and a little different from a traditional nanny role. Mom will generally be present as well as Grandma occasionally, and we’re really looking for an extra set of hands to help make day-to-day life easier. Responsibilities may include supervising and spending time with the kids, helping with meals, light cleaning and tidying, and accompanying Mom and the children on errands or outings.

The role may require possible overnights. We are trying a recent sleep routine with our 3 year old son, Sindri, so this will hopefully not be a requirement by January.

The role may look a little different from day to day,



so we’d love someone flexible who is comfortable jumping in where needed. Most importantly, we want someone our children can become comfortable with and who feels like a familiar, trusted presence in our home.

Current CPR certification along with a CRC/VSS is important to us, as is reliability and a genuine love of working with children. We offer $22/hour and are looking for someone who can commit to a consistent part-time schedule.
