Closure Date: October 9, 2026, 11:59 PM CST Position #: 9014574 Union: Saskatchewan Government and General Employees Union Bargaining Unit: SGEU - Saskatchewan Cancer Agency City/Town: Regina/Saskatoon Facility: Allan Blair Cancer Centre/Saskatoon Cancer Centre Department: Systemic Therapy & Outpatient Services Type: Full time regular Expected Start Date: October 19, 2026 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: In a 3-week rotation: 14 shift(s) of 7.77 hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band 8, $42.04 to $52.44 (6 step range) GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: The Navigator is responsible for the development, implementation, administration, evaluation, and delivery of the navigation component of the Screening Program for Breast Cancer.
In collaboration with other health care providers including program staff, family physicians and community partners, the Navigator acts as a clinical resource, providing support, information and education to promote coordination and continuity of care in matters related to the Screening Program for Breast Cancer.
This position reports to the Manager Screening Program for Breast Cancer. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing Membership: Licensed with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA). Experience: Three (3) years’ experience working in applied health care.
Experience in program development and evaluation is an asset. Skills: Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to interact with individuals to provide information, interpretation of diagnostic and treatment options, diagnostic follow-up coordination and emotional support to those individuals and their families.
Considerable judgment and problem solving ability is required to identify, analyze and define problems and select the most appropriate solution to rectify them. Human relations skills are required to develop formal relationships of a therapeutic nature to assist others in achieving their short or long term goals.
Ability and willingness to work cooperatively and effectively with SCA staff members and/or external partners. Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications. Ability to teach and present information to persons over whom the incumbent may have no direct authority.
Leadership skills required to lead Agency projects/committees. Ability to manage multiple tasks in various stages of completion according to priorities. Maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
