Job Description BIOVECTRA, now a part of Agilent, is recognized as a leader in the contract development and manufacturing space of active pharmaceutical ingredients specializing in clinical-to-commercial scale production for microbial fermentation, synthetic small molecules including ADC, HPAPI, plasmid DNA, mRNA, LNP and sterile filling capabilities. With over 650 employees at both the Windsor, NS and Charlottetown, PEI sites, BIOVECTRA supports over 100 clients, including over 20 top pharma and biotech companies. This role supports GMP production of biologics and small-molecule APIs. The position shapes manufacturing strategy, evaluates technologies, improves processes, and develops capital projects. Using deep expertise in process systems, equipment, automation, quality, and lifecycle management, the incumbent translates complex business and technical requirements into practical solutions that improve compliance, quality, capacity, reliability, cost, and long-term manufacturing performance. Role Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to engineering and project teams Guide process scale-up, technology transfer, facility modifications, and lifecycle optimization Develop the three- to five-year manufacturing and capital plan in partnership with Finance and aligned with corporate growth objectives Evaluate facility expansions, acquisitions, outsourced manufacturing, technology transfers, and strategic partnerships Assess manufacturing programs, products, and technologies that improve quality, throughput, flexibility, profitability, and cost efficiency. Lead enterprise-wide manufacturing initiatives and advise executives on technology options, risks, and opportunities Lead major capital projects from concept through commissioning and qualification, delivering within approved scope, schedule, budget, risk,
and value targets Develop business cases and financial models that assess ROI, payback, total cost of ownership, and expected operational perks Resolve complex, enterprise-level engineering challenges and recommend initiatives that advance corporate objectives . Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or a comparable discipline Ten years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with substantial biologics and/or API experience Experience successfully leading complex capital projects and strategic initiatives Thorough knowledge of GMP, Annex 1, ICH guidance, and regulatory expectations from the FDA, EMA, and Health Canada undefined Desired
Master’s degree and/or MBA Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or an equivalent credential Expertise in biologics production and small-molecule API production Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $121,644.00 - $190,069.00/yr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
