Overview:

Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Technical Lead to lead the development, enhancement, and support of enterprise Appian workflow solutions. This role is focused on deep Appian expertise, technical leadership, troubleshooting, and integration across a complex enterprise setting.

The successful candidate will remain close to the technology while mentoring developers, establishing technical best practices, and supporting a strong onshore/offshore delivery team. This is primarily a technical leadership role, not a formal people-management or pure architecture position.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of Appian workflow applications.
- Remain hands-on with Appian development, troubleshooting, and complex production issues.
- Develop and maintain process models, data types, interfaces, integrations, and reusable components.
- Provide technical direction, code reviews, mentorship, and development best practices to Appian developers.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Assess impacts across APIs, middleware, ETL processes, batch jobs, and downstream/upstream systems.
- Support application releases, upgrades, patches, testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Partner with architects on larger solution decisions while independently leading technical decisions for smaller Appian initiatives.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and onshore/offshore development teams.

Must Haves:

- Deep experience with Appian Workflow and process models.
- Experience operating as a Senior Developer, Lead Developer, or Technical Lead.
- Strong production troubleshooting and application support capabilities.
- Strong API and enterprise integration experience.




- Experience mentoring developers and providing technical direction.
- Experience working within complex enterprise application environments.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on development with technical leadership responsibilities.

Nice to Haves:

- Appian IDP experience.
- AWS exposure, including S3, SQS, or similar integration services.
- RPA experience.
- Financial services or insurance experience.
- IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation / CPG4BA exposure.
- Experience working with distributed onshore/offshore teams.
- Exposure to GenAI or AI-enabled workflow automation.
