We put people first and are looking for individuals who share our purpose of Making Today Great!The Career.As a Receiver / Door Person at a V!VA Retirement Community, you will be responsible for creating a positive first impression while supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Community.Working closely with the Welcome Coordinator, the Concierge Team, and other departments, you will assist with Community Member move-ins, deliveries, shipping and receiving, guest assistance, and general property support.
You will help ensure Community Members, families, guests vendors, and Team Members receive exceptional service while maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.You will serve as a role model for V!VA's Values and Culture, creating an environment where Community Members, guests, and Team Members feel welcomed, respected, and valued.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide a warm, welcoming, and professional presence for Community Members, families, guests, and visitorsAssist Community Members and guests entering and exiting vehicles and provide assistance with personal belongings when requiredAssist with Community Member inquiries, directions, transportation arrangements, and general assistance requestsAssist with Community Member move-ins in partnership with the Welcome Coordinator and Concierge TeamReceive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries and shipmentsMatch deliveries to purchase orders and verify shipment accuracyCoordinate and track incoming shipments while maintaining accurate receiving recordsSort and distribute incoming packages and deliveries throughout the CommunityMaintain inventory of shipping, receiving, and delivery suppliesConduct quality checks of received goods and report discrepancies as requiredAssist with freight scheduling and vendor coordination when requiredSupport the Concierge Team during periods of coverage as neededComplete regular perimeter walks and report safety, security, maintenance, or environmental concernsSupport emergency response procedures and assist during emergency situations when requiredMaintain receiving areas, entrances, exits, and surrounding areas in a clean, safe, and organized conditionOperate company vehicles and move vehicles on Community property in a safe and responsible manner when requiredAdhere to all V!VA policies, procedures, health and safety requirements,
and service standardsOther duties and special projects as assignedQualificationsPrevious experience in hospitality, retirement living, customer service, shipping and receiving, concierge, or a related environment considered an assetExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsPassion for creating positive first impressions and delivering exceptional service experiencesA warm, welcoming, and professional approach when interacting with Community Members, guests, families, vendors, and Team MembersStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to safely handle deliveries, shipments, and inventory while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple prioritiesBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsValid G Class driver's licence with a satisfactory driving recordKnowledge of safe lifting practices and workplace safety proceduresAbility to safely lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 lbsAbility to work flexible schedule, including weekends and statutory holidays as requiredValid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) requiredAvailable for call-ins and emergency coverage when requiredAble to effectively communicate in verbal and written EnglishV!VA Retirement Communities welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
